My mother Gunnel was worried of course but father Bengt just shook his head and said: “You don't think anyone's so stupid that they hide out in the forest, up to no good, on a Friday night?” Roosters and hens where quickly replaced by everything from venomous snakes in the sauna to birds of prey in the garden and a constant influx of new ideas and plans. Despite all the crazy ideas, my parents have always been, and still are, incredibly supportive. For that I'm eternally grateful.
I went to high school for three weeks before I realised it wasn't for me, I was unable to sit still. I dropped out of school and started working as a janitor. I liked it but after a few months of working I needed new challenges and on the 13th of July 1994 I got the challenge of my dreams. I started my own private zoo – Tropikariet.
The fact that I today have a profession that lets me work hands on with animals is probably a result of me still only having “insects in my head”:
